What this site is

Five Best Places publishes algorithmically-curated lists of restaurants, bars, and other businesses in cities across the U.S. Rankings are generated by combining publicly-available Google ratings and review counts using a Bayesian weighting formula. Descriptions are written by an AI model based on synthesizing review snippets, then published as-is.

No guarantees

Rankings and descriptions are informational only. Restaurants change menus, owners, quality, and operating hours constantly — sometimes daily. We refresh data periodically but can't promise it's up-to-date at the moment you read it. Before visiting any business, verify hours and current status directly with them.

We make no warranty about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of anything on this site. Use what you read here as a starting point, not as gospel.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of Five Best Places is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or your interactions with businesses listed here. If you have a bad meal, that's between you and the restaurant.

Third-party content

Ratings, review counts, photos, and place metadata are sourced from Google Maps Platform and remain the property of Google and the underlying reviewers. We display this data in compliance with Google Maps Platform's terms of service. Place names, addresses, and other factual details are factual information not subject to copyright.

Our content

If you're a business listed here

We don't take payment for listings or rankings — every place earns its position via the public data. If your information is incorrect or out-of-date, the fastest fix is to update your business's Google listing; we'll pick up the changes on our next refresh. If you believe a listing is genuinely inappropriate, contact us below.

Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date at the top.
